Firestarter (http://www.fs-security.com/) it’s a great GTK firewall frontend, a must in linux security, IMHO

Good list, recently I posted about mod_security [http://fak3r.com/2006/12/21/mod_security-for-apache/] now billed as a ‘embeddable web application firewall … for Apache’ by their marketing department, but it’s an excellent security tool, albeit at a different layer than the other tools you mention.

Super simple howto to get it running:
http://www.howtoforge.com/apache_mod_security

After that install the core rules, join the mailing list and start writing your own.

The main part is to make Linux tools simple and functional for the run of the mill computer user.
Should not be a long shot.
